Walking Along River Trails

Canmore River Trails
- Bow River Loop—A 1.3-mile trail that offers incredible river and mountain views. It is a popular trail in Canmore and is rated on the easier side, so it’s great for all levels.- Policeman’s Creek Boardwalk Trail—This 2.5-mile out-and-back trail is considered easy. It is popular for walking, running, birding, and snowshoeing. The trail is complete with benches, pedestrian bridges, and mountain views.
- Three Sister’s Viewpoint—For an Instagram-worthy shot, bring your camera and head to Three Sister’s Viewpoint. This 0.6-mile loop trail takes about 15 - 20 minutes to complete.

Please note that a Kananaskis Conservation Pass is required to park your vehicle in Kananaskis and the Bow Valley.
Canmore Hiking Trails
- Grassi Lakes Trail—If you’re looking for a hike with a wow factor, Grassi Lakes is it. Known as one of the most picturesque trails around Canmore and Banff, this trail is a must-add to your hiking list. It is about 4.3km (2.6 mi) long and is considered a moderate-to-easy trail. Grassi Lakes is a very popular trail, so we recommend starting early to avoid the crowds!- Ha Ling Trail to Ha Ling Peak—For experienced hikers, Ha Ling Peak provides a great challenge. The trail covers 3.9km (4.6 mi) and has an elevation gain of 810m (2,500ft). The trail is maintained for 3.5km, and then hikers traverse through unmaintained, rocky terrain to reach the summit. While it’s hard, the views absolutely make it worth it.
- East End of Rundle - Another stunning Canmore hiking trail to add to your list is the East End of Rundle trail. This hike is considered challenging and is 5.6km (6.6mi), taking anywhere from 3-6 hours to complete. The trail begins in a forested area but you’ll encounter rockier terrain as the ascent continues. Once you reach the summit, you’re greeted with stunning views over Canmore, the Bow Valley, and Ha Ling Peak.
