ABOUT GOLDEN
Golden offers the scenery of the Canadian Rockies without the crowds of larger resort towns. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and national parks, it offers easy access to incredible outdoor experiences without the crowds often found in larger resort destinations. Before your arrival, we'll send our local guide featuring our favourite restaurants, coffee shops, hikes, scenic drives, and seasonal activities. We're also happy to help connect guests with trusted local partners for guided adventures and experiences during their stay.
THE LEGACY OF EDWARD & WALTER FEUZ
Edward Feuz Jr. and Walter Feuz were pioneering Swiss mountain guides recruited by the Canadian Pacific Railway to help introduce visitors to the mountains surrounding Golden, alongside their brother Ernest. Their contributions to mountaineering and safe climbing techniques helped establish the region as one of North America's great mountain destinations. Today, guests can stay in their former home, thoughtfully restored to blend its 1910 origins with modern chalet comforts.
Please note that construction is in progress on the property and may continue through the end of September. All efforts will be made to keep noise between 8 AM and 8 PM.
- Free parking is available directly at the chalet, with additional parking throughout the village.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited.
- Self check-in is available via secure door code.
- The chalet is multi-level on a hillside with stairs — guests with limited mobility should plan accordingly.
- Golden's downtown core is less than 5 km away.
- The sauna is a shared village amenity and requires time to heat before use.
- This is not a ski-in/ski-out property.
- Please note that the fire pit is currently unavailable — outdoor fires are not permitted until further notice.
