Guests have access to:
- Walking trails throughout the property

- Forested green space
- Incredible mountain and valley views
Blue herons are frequently spotted throughout the village and often nest in the surrounding trees.

ABOUT GOLDEN
Golden offers the scenery of the Canadian Rockies without the crowds of larger resort towns. Surrounded by mountains, rivers, and national parks, it offers easy access to incredible outdoor experiences without the crowds often found in larger resort destinations.
THE LEGACY OF RUDOLPH AEMMER
Rudolph Aemmer was one of the pioneering Swiss mountain guides recruited by the Canadian Pacific Railway to help introduce visitors to the mountains surrounding Golden.
His skill and leadership were instrumental in mapping many of the region's most challenging peaks, helping establish the area as one of North America's great mountain destinations.
Today, guests can stay in his former home, thoughtfully restored to blend its 1910-1912 origins with modern chalet comforts.
Please note that construction is in progress on the property and may continue through the end of September. All efforts will be made to keep noise between 8 AM and 8 PM.
- Free parking is directly at the chalet. Additional parking is available throughout the village.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited.
- Self check-in is available via secure door code.
- The chalet is multi-level on a hillside with stairs — guests with limited mobility should plan accordingly.
- The kitchen has stovetops but no oven.
- Board games available.
- This chalet is directly beside the sauna. The sauna is a shared village amenity and requires time to heat before use.
- Golden's downtown core is less than 5 km away.
- This is not a ski-in/ski-out property.
- Please note that the fire pit is currently unavailable — outdoor fires are not permitted until further notice.
RESTORATION UPDATE
Edelweiss Village was acquired in 2024 with a commitment to preserving and restoring this remarkable piece of Golden's history. While restoration work continues in select areas of the property, guest stays are rarely impacted.
